“Where to this year?” was a fun topic of conversation whenever the family gathered during a meal or car ride. For years the answer was always, “Italy please!” Across the board our family viewed Italy as a magical destination, and as such the planning always began with barely contained excitement.
Sitting down to write this story I remember our first trip which was 17 years ago now; how fast time flies by! Still today, while we consider ourselves world travelers, Italy is always on our minds and we continue to spend a large portion of our time visiting this incredible country. Originally our fascination began through exploring for personal travels, but about a decade ago we added the business side to the mix. Since then, so many memories have been created and we are excited, as are our Italian partners, to create many new memories for our guests.
The first time arriving in Rome for us seemed like a dream. We immediately took in the history and elegance of this cosmopolitan city. There was so much to see at every turn, it seemed like we would never have enough time. After many return visits we have since become experts in how to best navigate this historic city and embrace the culture through the eyes of its proud citizens.
To this day Italy continues to grab our attention and our hearts with every visit. A short drive or a speed train journey away, the landscape takes a turn almost too fast for the naked eye to capture. From lakes to valleys and rolling hills, strolling through quaint inviting towns always leaves one with a sense of enchantment. Embracing the past in ghost villages, medieval towns, and castles alters your perception. Capturing the memory of Tuscan sunsets and Renaissance palaces leaves these images seared into your mind forever. Exploring every nook of the the isle of Capri and cranny of the mysterious Sicily will leave you feeling like a conquistador discovering untouched lands.
The smell of home made Italian delicacies and fine wines has always saturated our journeys. From freshly made mozzarella to experiencing traditional dishes where the locals eat, beautifully involved meals truly expose the soul of Italy.
